This service reduces social isolation for frail older visually impaired people in Leicester city through a high quality individualised day care service.

What is Day care?

Day care is a service which provides physical and emotional support for people who are over 60 years of age, are registered as visually impaired and who also live within the city boundaries.

What is the aim of Day care?

The aim of Day Care is to try to prevent people from becoming isolated, which can lead to a low mood and sometimes depression. We encourage people who use the service to maintain their independence by practising their life skills on a daily basis.

Our trained staff provides appropriate support in order to enable people to take part in their chosen activity. We provide a service which values people and encourages them to meet and interact with their peers in a secure environment helping them to shape the service which they receive.
