Powerful Psychological Study
As the horrors of Kristallnacht are spread throughout the watching world, Sylvia Gellburg a Jewess living in New York suddenly becomes partially paralysed from the waist down. Her husband calls in Dr Hyman to investigate his wife’s problems. The resulting conclusion that she is not ill but struggling with personal problems relating to her marriage and to her concept of Jewishness, leads to unravelling layers of complex issues within her relationship with her husband. The current issues lead to a play that explores the intricate balance within relationships and the consequences of not understanding them. Sponsored by the Last Plantagenet Weatherspoon.
