Structured Diabetes Education programme
Spirit Healthcare and NHS Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group are working together to develop a unique Structured Diabetes Education programme for people aged 18-25 with type 2 diabetes.
It is hoped that the programme will be delivered to groups of 6-10 people in a workshop format, and will focus on diabetes and lifestyle issues that are particularly important to this group of people.
They want to make this programme as relevant as possible, so that participants find it enjoyable and informative and learn skills to help them manage their diabetes.
They are now recruiting people aged 18-25 to advise us on the development of the programme. For example, they want to know what should be included, when the sessions should take place and where, and what would encourage people to attend.
They are looking for volunteers to join an online forum to discuss these areas and review the course content.
They are also looking for a small group of people to take part in a workshop on 14th September from 6pm to 8pm at Devonshire Place, London Road in Leicester to test the course materials. A light buffet with be provided on the day.
If you are aged 18-25, and whether you have type two diabetes or not, they would like to hear from you. Please contact Spirit by email firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone on 0800 881 5423 to register your interest in either group.
