On Tuesday 21 March, Vista's befriending service held a Health and Wellbeing Day at Devonshire Place in Leicester.

The event aimed to celebrate the importance of good health, as well as providing information on support and services from a variety of local wellbeing organisations.

Visitors were able to attend talks and demonstrations from over 40 organisations, including Vista, Leicester Ageing Together, Age UK and Vision Aid. In addition, taster sessions for a range of therapies were available.

Carol Hill, Befriending Officer, said “The day was a great success with fantastic feedback. Many people with sight loss received advice and support from organisations they hadn’t been in contact with before.”

Supported by the Big Lottery Fund, the event was organised as part of Vista’s befriending service, which matches people with sight loss to a volunteer befriender.
