Two of our residential homes are opening their doors to the public on Friday 17 June as part of Care Home Open Day.

Kathleen Rutland Home in Leicester Forest East, and the New Wycliffe Home in Rushey Mead, are inviting people to come along and join them in celebrating their fantastic homes, meet staff and residents, and take part in various activities from 10am – 3pm.

The idea behind the day is to encourage local people to visit care homes in their community and to work together to develop better relationships.

Charlotte Jackson, Residential Manager at Kathleen Rutland Home, said: “This is a great way to show the excellent services on offer and the fantastic work that goes on at our homes. Some people still have misconceptions about care homes, so we are keen to dispel any myths and for people to come and have a look around, meet the staff and our residents.”

Now in its fourth year, Care Home Open Day offers the opportunity for care homes across the country to throw open their doors, demonstrate the difference they can make to people’s lives, strengthen links with local communities, and help celebrate some of the really great care available.
