Various Social Groups

Vista offers a wide range of social groups held within the City, County and Rutland for people to socialize and meet with like minded people. Vista has a dedicated team of Development Officers who run these groups and support people to be part of their local community.

Some of the groups are held at the Resources Centre at Gedding Road, and other groups are held at venues throughout Leicestershire and Rutland. These groups can be half days or full days and although we encourage people to stay as independent transport can be provided if required.

Trips and Outings

Vista organises various trips and outings throughout the year within the social groups to Garden Centres, out for meals, shopping trips and visits to tourist attractions. Transport for the trips is provided at a cost and all trips are supported by staff and volunteers.

Able Bodied and Visually Impaired Club  - AVIC

The Able Bodied and Visually Impaired Club (AVIC) is a Vista run community centre based in Barwell and has been in operation since 1990. In 2005 Vista acquired the building making it the first Resource Centre in the County run by Vista, but used by the whole community.  In 2006 the centre was refurbished by National Grid and Volunteers with monies raised for the renovation kindly donated by the Leicester Lions.
