The Deafblind Reablement service is for people who have been identified as having a significant hearing loss as well as a sight loss - this is called Dual Sensory Loss.
People who are Deafblind are eligible for a specialist assessment of need which gauges the impact that the dual sensory loss has on people. These assessments can take place in their own home and out in the community.
This service provides a specialist reablement to enable deafblind people access to communication support and techniques as well as safety in the home, and getting out and about independently. This service can provide training for carers, family members and personal assistants.
