This service provides information and support at point of diagnosis in local hospital eye clinics. It aims to provide timely advice and information to adults and children with sight loss, or other eye conditions, that are attending appointments at hospital eye clinics across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. This service gives access to appropriate information to people on eye care, correct use of medicines, signposting and advice when people have been registered with a significant sightloss.
It also provides a telephone Helpline during the daytime, Monday to Friday, which acts as a single point of contact to give advice or signpost people to other agencies. The Helpline can also help to enable people with sight loss or their families to cope better with their eye conditions and maintain their independence. The Helpline is also available for people to just ask a question about Vista and our services.
