Vista is an independent, local charity providing information, support and care to people affected by sight loss who live in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We have been doing so for over 180 years and are working hard to make sure we will do so for the future too. 

You will be required to work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday with the requirement to work some unsocial hours to meet the needs of the service.

In this role you will;

·        Respond to appropriate referrals from external providers and internal Vista teams for people identified as having a significant hearing loss as well as sight loss.

·        Carry out a reablement assessment and use these to design and implement comprehensive reablement programmes for people with a dual sensory loss, either on an individual or group basis

·        Teach communication skills as appropriate to the person.

·        Undertake home visits to people identified as having a dual sensory loss and to offer advice and information to enable an independent living outcome.

Experience with visually impaired people is essential, as well as being qualified with Guiding and Communicating with Deafblind People Level 3 and BSL Level 2, or a commitment to undertake the qualification.
