- Location Across Leicestershire - You can do this role from home if you are able to join into a group session over the phone or over Zoom/ Teams
- Hours Sessions usually run twice a week
- Closing date: 31 Oct 2022, 5 p.m.
Primary Objectives:
To assist the group facilitator in providing friendship, support and encouragement to people living with sight loss. The last year has seen more people experiencing isolation and living with a visual impairment can create even further barriers to social inclusion.
You will help encourage people to use technology, by providing online activities and community connections for older people with sight loss who can no longer attend activities in person, either due to COVID-19 restrictions or other health concerns.
The session will take place online over Teams or Zoom. Once users are confident and active, they are encouraged to help others with tech tips and queries, making the groups more interactive and moving towards independence.
You will be responsible for helping to host a free phone or virtual session twice a week for up to 40 minutes, for a group of up to 10 people to meet and chat or take part in an activity. You will promote and encourage a friendly and safe environment to allow people to talk, share experiences, hobbies, and general topics as led by the group.
Responsibilities:

- To socialise with members of the group, taking part in activities and discussions as necessary
- To be reliable and have a genuine desire to make a difference to the lives of visually impaired people
