Oksana's Story

Oksana is Vista’s Family Support Activities Officer for the Children and Young People’s team.

Her role is all about creating spaces where families can come together, share experiences and support one another while navigating life with visual impairments. Sometimes it’s parents of older children sharing advice with parents who are just starting that journey. Those connections can make a huge difference.

Oksana also helped develop Active Eyes, a project helping early years practitioners recognise potential visual impairments in children and encourage eye tests.

Vista supports people from the moment sight problems begin, helping them navigate diagnosis and life with visual impairments.

Our emergency appeal is about protecting that support for families across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

If we cannot raise enough funds to secure Vista’s future and are forced to close, any funds raised will be redirected to a charity with similar aims.
