Help us be there for every person living with sight loss

Right now, around 35,000 people in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland are living with sight loss. Behind that number are children struggling at school, parents adjusting to a new reality, older people losing confidence in their independence, and families stepping unexpectedly into caring roles.

Vista is the only local charity providing lifelong, holistic support, from the very first diagnosis to every stage of life. We are there in the eye clinic, in people’s homes, in schools and workplaces, and in the community.

But we cannot do it without you.

Why your gift matters today

Without Vista, thousands of people would be left without the skills and support they need to live independently.

Everyday things, making a cup of tea, reading a letter, going to work, catching a bus, would become overwhelming or even impossible.

Your donation helps us:

  • Meet people at diagnosis, so they never feel alone.
  • Teach vital mobility skills like white cane training.
  • Support children and young people to grow in confidence and independence.
  • Provide technology and accessible resources to keep people connected.
  • Offer emotional support so families can cope with the changes sight loss brings.

Every day, people tell us how life-changing this support is:

“Facing sight loss is frightening.  Vista was there for me at the hardest time of my life.  They helped me in so many ways from the practical things like adapting my home to emotional support.”

- Craig Brown, 'Blind Guitar Guy'

Vista has been here for over 150 years, standing alongside people with sight loss. But right now, our services are under pressure. If we are to reach all 35,000 people in our community who need us, we must act now.

A world without Vista would mean thousands of people facing sight loss alone, without the basic skills or support to live independently.

Please, give what you can today. Together we can ensure that nobody in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland faces sight loss without someone to turn to.
