Losing your sight can be a big adjustment, but you don’t have to do it alone. Our professionally qualified Vision rehabilitation specialists  can support you to stay independent and confident in your daily life.

We start with a conversation to understand how your sight loss is affecting you at home or in the community. From there, we’ll work with you to build or adapt everyday skills and suggest practical solutions that can make a real difference.

What we offer

Our team can help with:

Independent living skills

We’ll show you safe ways to prepare food, pour drinks, use the cooker, and carry out everyday tasks around the home.

Getting out and about

We provide mobility training, including cane use and route planning. We can also support you in using public transport safely and confidently.

Making things more accessible

We offer advice on using large print, audio formats, magnification and Braille so you can access your mail and personal information.

Technology and equipment

We’ll assess whether magnifiers or electronic aids might help with reading or close-up tasks. We can also demonstrate tools like glare-reducing over-shields and assess your lighting needs.

How it works

  • A member of our team will visit you to talk you through what you’d like to achieve and your aspirations,..
  • We’ll work with you to create a support plan based on what matters most to you.
  • We’ll let you know about other Vista services that might be helpful.
  • You’ll receive practical, one-to-one support to help you build confidence and independence in your own way.
