Vista's Golf Day a success

We were delighted to have held our first ever Golf Day at the Leicester Golf Centre. It was fantastic to have both visually impaired and non-visually impaired golfers players together. Not only did the day act as a much-needed fundraiser for Vista, but it also helped to showcase golf as an accessible sport and raise awareness of the work that we do.

Chris Hammond, someone we support said that:

“As one of the visually impaired participants I thoroughly enjoyed the golf day mixing with other visually impaired golfers and getting great encouragement from the sighted players. It was a very worthwhile day and was also a chance to show what visually impaired people can achieve. I’m so glad I got involved and really appreciate all the help Vista gives me. I can’t wait to play in the event again next year.”

We wouldn’t have been able to hold the day without the fantastic support from the England and Wales Blind Golf Association along with the help of Anders and his team at Leicester Golf Centre. We are already looking ahead to next year, building on what was a great day all round.

Thank you to everybody that supported the day.
