We are looking for a Gujarati speaking Community Support Worker to support people who have a sight and hearing loss or sight loss and an additional disability to become as independent as possible through supporting individual choice and control.

You will be required to work with people within their own homes or transport service users to agreed locations, support people to access their community through their preferred method of travel, and to enable individuals to communicate as fully as possible, in any given situation by providing access to written communication.

You will need:

  •       to speak Gujarati fluently – due to the particular needs of service users
  •      experience of working with visually impaired people
  •      experience of supporting people in communication and making informed choices
  •      excellent written and communication skills
  •      access to a vehicle as this post requires frequent travel

 You will be required to work 8 hours per week, flexibly Monday to Friday, with occasional unsocial hours to meet service needs.
