Alec Crombie will be selling copies of his new book ‘Become the Wind’ at our Oakham charity shop, 15 High Street, Oakham, LE15 6AH on Friday 24th June 2022 from 10:00am.

He'll be around to sign the book and chat about it. All proceeds from the book sales on the 24th will go exclusively to Vista.

Alec has been blind since the age of 10. He was the first sight impaired trustee in 1976 and was Chair of the board of trustees from 1997 to 2003. Alec was a solicitor and is now active in Rutland, where he is Deputy Mayor of Uppingham.

Alec Crombie, Honorary Vice President at Vista said:

“Over the years I have been much involved in fundraising for Vista. My most memorable was the trek I undertook with my guides from Dorset to Leicester in 2004, which raised approaching ten thousand pounds for the Society.

In retirement I have become a published author. Become The Wind, my debut novel, is now out. It has a lot to say on our behalf, so I hope you will enjoy a good read.”
