On 11th December Vista opened its new Sensory Room at Simmins Crescent Home.

Children and adults with sensory impairments and additional complex needs can’t always experience the world as the majority of us do. Multi-sensory environments provide a safe and therapeutic space where children with complex needs and their families can break down those barriers; they have proven to improve cognitive development, language and social interaction skills.

The new sensory room at Simmins Crescent will be a fun and interactive room, drawing on all of the senses to fully immerse the children in their surroundings and help them to connect. The room has up to date equipment, with creates sounds to stimulate listening, interactive coloured lighting and more.
