Vista recruits for new Chair of Trustees

Published on 20th July 2016 in General

We are on the lookout for a new Chair to join our Board of Trustees. Our trustees are critical in making sure we are doing all we can to improve the lives of local people with sight loss.

Vista is a local charity supporting over 6,000 children and adults in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Many of our trustees have a personal experience of sight loss, and have had distinguished careers in industry, education and healthcare.

We're extremely proud of our Board of Trustees, who accept ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of the charity and ensure that we remain solvent, well-run and meet the needs of our service users.

Paul Bott, Chief Executive, said “I joined Vista at the end of 2012, and since then we’ve been on a mission to diversify our income streams, build partnerships across our locality and with other sight loss organisations nationally.

We have some exciting plans for the future at Vista, and I am excited about being supported and challenged by Vista’s new Chair of Trustees to deliver more and better support to our beneficiaries.

Sue Disley, our outgoing Chair, has overseen our growth over the past two years, and I am looking forward to a new Chair of Trustees being part of our future successes.”

The ideal candidate will be ambitious and creative with commercial experience of leading and delivering growth. We are open to injecting a greater degree of commercial thinking into our organisation as we continue to diversify funding and continue to evolve our services. You will also need to possess the gravitas and credibility to represent Vista externally in support of our development. Experience of forging effective partnerships/mergers will be advantageous as this may be feature of our ongoing development.

Applications are open until 9am Monday 15th August 2016. For more information and to apply, please visit Peridot’s microsite.
